Climate Change Is Impacting Our Health and Our Future

When we talk about climate change, we usually think of melting glaciers and rising sea levels. But what we don’t talk about enough is how it’s affecting our health, especially as teens. From asthma caused by air pollution to anxiety triggered by constant news about the planet, climate change is already impacting our lives.

Last summer, the wildfire smoke made it hard for students to run outside for track practice. Some had breathing problems for weeks. Others felt helpless and scared about the future. The connection between environmental issues and health is real and personal.

As teens, we’re often told the planet is ours to save. That’s a lot of pressure, but it also means we have a voice. We can push schools, communities, and leaders to take action, not just for the environment, but for our health too. Because saving the planet is about survival, and that includes ours.
