Health Tech Is Cool, but Not Everyone Can Use It

From fitness trackers to therapy apps, healthcare is going digital. And while that’s exciting, not every teen is benefitting. Many of the newest health tools cost money or require smartphones and fast internet. For teens in lower-income households, this tech isn’t just inaccessible, it’s irrelevant.

Even when we do have access, a lot of these tools aren’t made for us. They might be full of medical jargon, lack privacy, or assume we already know how to manage our health. That’s not always the case. Health apps should help teens feel more in control, not more confused.

If we want tech to truly transform teen health, it needs to be teen-centered. That means free, easy to use, and built with our real needs in mind. We have the power to influence this space, so let’s speak up and make it better.
